Instilling Good oral Habits for a lifetime of smiles

We know how quickly children learn and grow and that they soak up information and emulate the behaviors of the people they’re lovingly surrounded by. This is why we feel it’s important to teach them proper oral hygiene habits and bring them in to see us as soon as their first tooth enters.

We recommend following this guidelines for happy, healthy smiles:

Use a warm wet rag to gently wipe your baby’s gums before their first tooth emerges. When the first tooth appears, bring your little one in to see us (usually around 1 year of age).

Use a soft-bristled children’s toothbrush and pea-sized toothpaste to brush their teeth.

Supervise your child’s brushing until it seems they’ve got the routine down like a pro.

Be sure to bring them to Maricopa Dental Center for checkups!

Fight Decay Like a Superhero!

Your children might be excited to brush and floss if you approach the conversation in a way that makes sense to them. Do you have a young one that loves the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? Let them know that cavities can keep them from enjoying pizza with Raphael, Donatello, Leonardo, and Michelangelo. Tooth pain caused by decay can make it difficult for them to socialize and pay attention in school, and we know you want to prevent anything from negatively impacting their development. We do, too.

With a diligent routine at home and the gentle care of your Maricopa dentists, their smiles can remain a source of delight through each growth stage!
